SPECTRO announces the acquisition of Polycon Analysensysteme GmbH and Polycon Laborautomation GmbH

Kleve, December 21, 1998. The acquisitions were concluded through Spectro’s holding company as another key step in a series of strategic moves to further consolidate Spectro’s leadership position in the analytical instruments market.

When asked to comment, Manfred Bergsch, Spectro’s Managing Director stated that: "Polycons low- and mid-end Arc/Spark spectrometers are a complementary product extension allowing us now to offer a full range of products without equal in the industry.
Heinz-Gerd Joosten, Polycon’s Managing Director has commented:"We are as excited by this deal as Spectro and look forward to contributing our products and CCD technology to Spectro’s growing momentum."

Polycon was founded in 1986 by H. G. Joosten, K. Dietze, K. Schildner and K.H. Lemm and has grown through world-wide sales to a leadership position in mobile spectrometers.
