Kleve, March 23, 1999. Spectro Analytical Instruments announced the award to supply multiple ´On-Line´monitoring systems to Siemens for the Cadereyta refinery project for the Mexican state oil company PEMEX. Valued in excess of $500,000 the order is a milestone achievement since the inauguration of Spectro´s European Industrial Process Analyzers division earlier this year.
The ´On-Line´analyzers supplied to Siemens utilize X-Ray Fluorescence technology to measure sulfur in the refining stream to quantitatively certify compliance of environmentally acceptable petroleum products.
Tom Blades, Spectro´s CEO commented: "This is an important step for Spectro as it validates last year´s strategic acquisition of Texas based Asoma Instruments. Asoma´s On-Line technology coupled with Spectro’s international presence and reputation has significantly elevated our position in the Industrial Process Control market. Although we have received a record number of orders since the beginning of the year, this is the largest one and signals what we anticipate to be the first of a series of follow on projects".
Spectro Analytical Instruments designs, manufactures and markets, state of the art Spectrometers and process control solutions for a wide range of customers and applications. Since its founding 20 years ago, Spectro has developed internationally into the industry innovator in XRF and Optical Emission Spectrometry with more than14.000 instruments sold world-wide.
