Spectrometer company obtains extraordinary record
Kleve, October 5, 2000. In past years, SPECTRO has set many records - numerous company products have also set international standards for the analysis of varying materials. But what has now been confirmed with a certificate as a record by Guinness World Records, is something very special, even for the successful German company: SPECTRO has been honored for conducting a scientific seminar farther below the surface of the earth then ever before!
On September 28, 1998, scientists and practical experts met 460 meters below the surface of the earth in an old mine to discuss the newest developments in analytical technology. SPECTRO cooperated with the Kaliforschungs-Institut, a well-known potash research institute, to develop the idea and organize the event at this unique location. The seminar was then scheduled and conducted a short time later.
Today, an established seminar series has arisen from these origins. Just a few weeks ago, there was again a great interest in meeting underground and exchanging experiences - for the eighth time! "The variety of topics is the reason why this event is so attractive for the participants", Manfred Bergsch, Managing Director of SPECTRO, explains.
The European Technical College Fresenius joined SPECTRO and Kaliforschungs-Institut as a third partner in the organizing committee for this eighth seminar. The three partners will continue to organize and further develop the seminar series together; scientists and practical spectrometer experts can look forward to new and interesting lectures in the depths of the old mine.
SPECTRO Analytical Instruments designs, manufactures and markets state of the art spectrometers and process control solutions for a wide range of customers and applications. Since its inception in 1979, SPECTRO has developed internationally into the industry innovator in Optical Emission and XRF spectroscopy with more than 15,000 instruments installed worldwide.
