Familiar Microsoft-like environment and extended one-click function controls ensures fast software acclimation
Packed with performance-boosting automatic logic systems that help streamline system set-up, increase sample throughput and improve analytical results
Kleve, Chicago, March 08, 2009 – SPECTRO Analytical Instruments introduces its new SMART ANALYZER VISION 4.0 system software for the SPECTRO ARCOS und SPECTRO GENESIS ICP-OES instruments at Pittcon 2009 (March 8 to 13, Chicago). SMART ANALYZER VISION has been designed along the lines of the current Microsoft software environment to enable intuitive operation. The new release guarantees users simplified operation despite its greatly increased range of functions; making it easy for new operators to become acquainted and maximize their SPECTRO ICP-OES analysis output.
Familiar Interface Enables Simple Operation
SMART ANALYZER VISION’s graphical interface is based on the familiar design of the Office group of products: SMART ANALYZER VISION uses a central navigation bar with six job oriented views. Users can open each view with a single mouse click on the navigation bar; the instrument functions are then immediately available for use: For example, automatic and manual analysis, spectral viewing or method development. Because only the functions necessary for the current view are active, the screen is always clear and self explanatory. “If you can find your way around Outlook and Excel, you’ll have no trouble with Smart Analyzer Vision 4.0,” promises Olaf Schulz, Product Manager for ICP-OES at SPECTRO, and draws particular attention to the possibilities for flexible software configuration: “For experienced users, Smart Analyzer Vision offers numerous functions making it possible to tackle the most detailed requirements. Alternatively, laboratories can adjust the interface so that only the basic functions are visible, simplifying operation for less experienced operators.”
Additional Import, Sorting, Filter and Configuration Options
In addition to a new look for the SMART ANALYZER VISION interface, SPECTRO has increased the range of functions. There are many new import, sorting, filter and configuration options now available for the SPECTRO ARCOS and SPECTRO GENESIS systems; allowing for increased sample throughput and efficient automation of the analyses. For example, the entire recorded spectrum is now automatically stored for every measurement in a database, giving laboratories many possibilities for post processing: Questions arising long after the analysis has taken place can be answered without having to re-measure any samples. Automation of sample runs is similarly efficient: Laboratory personnel enter the samples that are to be run into a sequence list - manually, using a copy function, or with the automatic import function - and then place the samples into the autosampler tray. The SPECTRO ICP analyzes the samples in the programmed order. Event-controlled sample logic ensures a trouble-free run. Samples can even be optionally automatically diluted as necessary. An optimization function reduces sample transition times enabling savings in time and money.
The SMART ANALYZER VISION 4.0 software is now standard in all new SPECTRO ARCOS and SPECTRO GENESIS ICP-OES instruments. It can be pre-installed to run on a Windows XP or Windows Vista based PC according to customer requirements; ensuring simple integration into existing networks.
