Worldwide, first fully simultaneously measuring ICP mass spectrometer
Distinction during “Annual Conference of China Scientific Instruments” in April 2011
Third ACCSI-Award in a row for SPECTRO
Kleve, May 2011 – SPECTRO Analytical Instruments GmbH’s SPECTRO MS, the first fully simultaneously measuring ICP mass spectrometer in the world, was distinguished as “One of the best new instruments in 2010” at this year’s Annual Conference of China Scientific Instruments (ACCSI) in Peking. This was the third time in a row that SPECTRO received the noted ACCSI Award.
SPECTRO introduced the SPECTRO MS to the market as the world’s first completely simultaneously measuring mass spectrometer with inductively coupled plasma (ICP) in 2010; setting new standards for precision and speed in ICP mass spectrometry. The Chinese experts at the ACCSI 2011 were also enthusiastic about the SPECTRO’s ICP mass spectrometer – one of only six spectrometer manufacturers to be invited. “2010 was a successful year for us in China, not only due to the SPECTRO MS,” reports Willi Barger, Product Manager for the ICP-MS at SPECTRO. “The ACCSI Award is the icing on the cake and will help enhance the current financial year.”
Noted Industrial Gathering
The ACCSI, which has taken place annually in Peking since 2007, is an industrial gathering point for high caliber specialists in the Chinese analytical industry. The participants, governmental officials, representatives of international analytical manufacturers as well as the decision-makers from many Chinese companies and research institutions take a balance of the previous twelve months and exchange information about the most important trends for the coming year during the conference. Presentation of the ACCSI Awards for the best new instrument of the previous year forms the conclusion and culmination of the event. The conference is organized by the China Instruments Manufacturers Association, the China Instrument Society Analytical Instrument Society and the Web portal www.instrument.com.cn together with the China Association for Instrument Analysis as co-organizer.
Background SPECTRO MS
Introduced in 2010, the SPECTRO MS is the world’s first fully simultaneously measuring mass spectrometer with inductively coupled plasma. With its novel Direct Charge Detector, the instrument simultaneously records 75 elements and their isotopes from lithium to uranium with every measurement. With a newly developed ion optic and double-focusing sector field mass spectrometer with Mattauch-Herzog geometry, the SPECTRO MS is able to deliver much more precise and reproducible results than conventional sequential mass spectrometers.
SPECTRO is one of the worldwide leading suppliers of analytical instruments for optical emission and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.
