During the 1990s SPECTRO Analytical Instruments, based in Kleve, Germany, introduced the first EDXRF analyzers to make use of polarized x-rays, with the introduction of the SPECTRO XEPOS and X-Lab 2000. This brought a new and unique technology to the XRF marketplace for the advancement of quality control and laboratory work.
In 1998 the two companies joined forces when SPECTRO acquired ASOMA. Bringing together the XRF expertise of both groups, SPECTRO now offers a full and complete line of XRF instrumentation designed and manufactured for the laboratory, at-line quality control and on-line process control. SPECTRO maintains R&D and manufacturing facilities in Kleve, Germany, and Marble Falls, Texas.
